A MISSIO DEI COMO FUNDAMENTO PRIMORDIAL NO RESGATE DA IDENTIDADE CULTURAL AFRICANA

Abstract

Nowadays, the movement that proposes to rescue African cultural identity is intensifying in Africa. Christianity has been presented as the greatest villain in the process of domination and westernization of the continent. Gradually, African Christian churches received the label of being the main drivers for the realization of this process and the largest institution that allows and facilitates neo-colonization. In the face of this reality, this article aims to clarify that historically Christianity has not been an alienating religion for anyone around the world; however, some men and women with dubious motivations have been used to subdue and dominate nationals because of their own choices and methods. With this article, we intend to find possibilities for a better path that leads to the rescue of African cultural identity from the understanding of missio Dei's concept.
